The Story So Far...
The Procrastinators started out with David Green and Bill Carson entertaining themselves playing and singing cover songs. It was all very loose and they soon drifted apart with Bill devoting time to raising a family and David moving to Austin. Upon Green's return to Fort Worth, the two got together to play music again. David was writing more by this time and soon released the sparsely produced, Little Victories, consisting of a dozen original songs. Bill was beginning to write and eventually had his own collection of self penned material. Collaboration was the next logical step and the results exceeded what either of them were capable of on their own.
The following year found them holed up in Moonlight Recorders learning their way around the studio. With only a handful of co-written songs, they didn't have enough material for an album but it was time well spent as they honed their craft. Things went unfinished and the project was abandoned. They reconvened a year later and got comfortable writing together again. Each came to the table with new songs and new song ideas but it quickly became obvious how much better the material was when they worked in collaboration.
It was during this time that several of their most enduring songs were born. Such standards as Sweet Marie, The Hangman, and Mexico or Bust were created during this fruitful period. Recording sessions commenced and the resulting EP, White Boys From Wedgwood, was warmly received. Green and Carson were caught off guard by the response and the impending cry for a live performance. They retreated to the warmth and comfort of pen and paper.
Within a year, they had enough material to put together a complete album. Recording sessions ensued and they enlisted the talents of many A-list players from the Fort Worth music scene. Fall 2005 saw the release of the self titled disc, THE PROCRASTINATORS. As if to acknowledge the criticism of their years of procrastination, the pair assumed THE PROCRASTINATORS moniker and wore it as a badge of honor. They had done what many said they wouldn't. They had completed an album of original songs...finally.
The debut cd garnered local radio and juke box play in addition to impressive internet rotation. A band was assembled to support the duo at such local haunts as the legendary White Elephant Saloon, The Poop Deck, Billy Miners Saloon, and The Love Shack. Fan requests for a follow up album have been heard and THE PROCRASTINATORS are pleased to announce that they are in the studio recording a new cd. No release date has been set and fans are asked to remember that there is a reason they are called THE PROCRASTINATORS. Remember THE PROCRASTINATORS' mantra...Better Late Than Never!
